How Many Pieces of Content Should I Have?
There is no specific number that you have to have to get started. But the quick answer? At least 10.
If you have at least 10 pieces of content you can create 5-6 different images for each one you can pin at certain intervals. As you grow and become consistent in pinning each week you can grow the number of pins you are doing to further succeed on Pinterest.
The most important thing you need to be sure of is that you have good content that you are sharing! Make sure you are creating quality content full of value.
And second, you must drip content daily! When it comes to Pinterest it is so important to be consistent and keep reminding them you are here to stay. The more consistent you can be in your pinning, even if it is small amounts each day is vital to see that consistent growth we are all looking for!

Figure out how much content you can reasonably make each week to pin and start there. In the beginning, it doesn’t have to be a lot. It just has to be consistent!

How Many Boards Should I Have?
When starting from zero you want to try to aim for at least 10 boards, and each board should have at least 10 pins. You can create more boards as you go and continue to grow and pin.
Just remember, drip your content out! The number of boards you have will also depend on the amount of content you have to begin.
And just like pins, I would like to see you creating your boards throughout the week. Please, do not just go in one day and BOOM! 10 boards and pins are suddenly there.
Do yourself a favor and spread it out to succeed on Pinterest! Pinterest hates spammy behavior. And they don’t say exactly what they consider spammy so feel free to test it but in this case, speed is not always the best. By building boards and dripping your content out daily. Pinterest loves that showing of a daily presence and consistent sharing of value.

Should I Pin Content From Other Creators and How Much?
This is something that has been encouraged by many Pinterest experts and to be honest I did it for a long time. The issue with this is that you are sending traffic to others and you can’t always be sure of what you are sending your people to.
So before you share someone else’s pin click on it. Sometimes a pin can look amazing but it is fake, stolen, or super spammy. And you do not want your account in any way connected to that kind of junk. Make sure it relates, connects, and build the brand you are creating.
Your followers are trusting you. Make sure you don’t hurt that trust by sending them to a page that doesn’t uphold your standards.
Another thing you need to consider to decide of sharing other people’s content is right for you is what your main focus using Pinterest is. If your entire focus is to create traffic and grow your presence, to go to your own website, email, or product then you don’t need to share others. As long as you have enough content.
If you don’t have a lot of content and you don’t like your board being so empty then by all means share some good quality pins from someone else while you focus on creating your own content. But don’t feel like you have to do it.
Again, please make sure that anything you share is not spammy and is quality content that will enrich your readers.

How Many Pins Should I Pin Every Day?
Ha! I am not giving you an absolute answer. Why? Because I would be lying. I am not going to tell you to pin 20 or 30 pins a day. In the past that used to be a thing. A must!
However, that doesn’t work so much anymore to succeed on Pinterest. Nowadays, Pinterest wants to see quality over quantity. So there is no magic number that you should be pinning every day.
Pinterest wants to see quality over quantity. There is no magic number that you should be pinning every day.
The real answer is, it depends on how much content you have and how much graphic power you have! For example, if you already have 50 have fresh updated and evergreen blog posts and you create at least 5 images for each blog post you will already have 250 different pins to share.
And that is beautiful!
In that case, you would do 10 to 15 a day and continue adding more content and creating more pins for that content and you will never run out and it will be easy to share consistently over time.
Again, I don’t suggest going super fast. Remain at this pace for a few months and then if you can pick up the pace because you have now proven to Pinterest that you are here to stay.
If you are limited on your content then start with 5 times a day. For example, if you only have those 10 pieces of content we talked about in the beginning just start smaller and trickle those out slowly.
